Snickerdoodles

This morning I sent out a facebook request for friends to make a cookie recipe and tell me how many cookies it made. And you could tell me if there are any typos or really screwy instructions, too. (You will be helping me immensely in editing my cookbook!) So if that's why you're here... Thanks! (But don't forget to message me how many cookies—or leave a comment here.)

SNICKERDOODLES

1½ cups sugar
½ cup butter, softened
½ cup shortening
2 eggs, room temperature
2¾ cups flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. sugar
3 tsp. cinnamon

Heat oven to 400°. Mix 1½ cups sugar, butter, shortening and eggs in a large bowl.  Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Shape dough into balls—about 1-inch round.  In a small bowl, mix 3 Tbsp. sugar with 3 Tbsp. cinnamon; roll balls in mixture. Place balls about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 8-10 minutes.  Immediately remove from cookie sheet.
