Sugar Cookies #2

This morning I sent out a facebook request for friends to make a cookie recipe and tell me how many cookies it made. And you could tell me if there are any typos or really screwy instructions, too. (You will be helping me immensely in editing my cookbook!) So if that's why you're here... Thanks! (But don't forget to message me how many cookies—or leave a comment here.)

AUNT MARIAN'S SUGAR COOKIES

½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 Tbsp. milk
½ tsp. vanilla
2¼ cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. nutmeg

Heat oven to 375°.  Cream butter, sugar and egg.  In a small bowl, mix milk and vanilla together.  In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.  Add dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternately with milk beginning and ending with dry stuff [add ¾ cup dry stuff, then 1 Tbsp. milk, etc.].  Mix thoroughly.  Chill at least one hour.  Roll out on a floured surface to about ¼-inch thick.  Cut with floured cookie cutters.  Bake on greased cookie sheets for 8-9 minutes (cookies will appear white when they’re done).  Cool and frost as desired.

So, my roommate wanted to make dinosaur shaped cookies. So we made this recipe. It makes about 2 dozen cookies. Remember that sandwhich cutter we have? That's about the same size as what we used. :)
